Does the plywood wood crack and deform frequently during the rainy season? Try these methods to improve quickly!

In Guangdong, the rainy season lasts from April to September, with continuous rainy days and high humidity. When the weather clears up, the humidity drops again. The obvious dry and wet changes cause the wood to deform rapidly, so the cracking of the plywood is also relatively frequent, especially at the ends of the thick boards. Industry insiders all know that the process of panel assembly is extremely strict, and the control of every detail will affect the product quality.

"Influence"

During the rainy season, the moisture content of wood boards is generally relatively high. Therefore, when using panel glue, it is very important to control the moisture content of the wood after natural moisture absorption, and ensure that it is between 7% and 12%. This is very important because if it is less than 7%, it is very likely to cause excessive permeability of the wood, leading to a lack of adhesive on the bonding surface and resulting in cracking. However, if it exceeds 12%, it will directly lead to poor permeability, making it difficult to form adhesive nails, incomplete cross-linking reaction, and may cause delamination. Another issue is that wood itself is prone to cracking and deformation due to changes in humidity.

How to improve?
1. Fresh use

During the rainy season, it is recommended that the sliced boards be assembled on the same day or wrapped with cling film. The following two types of wood tend to deform more severely in damp seasons, which can easily lead to cracking during paneling. Please note:

For single pieces of wood with a width greater than 7 centimeters, they must be assembled on the same day. It is recommended that the spliced boards be less than 7 centimeters.

② Longer boards must be assembled on the same day.

2. Rejuvenation and health preservation

The health preservation room, which can be called a haven for wood, is an indispensable part of the processing of high-quality wood. Just like the preservation of fruits in the refrigerator, health preservation can keep wood in good condition during the panelling process, effectively alleviating problems such as wood cracking and deformation caused by dry and wet changes.

① Curing in a stable temperature and humidity environment can eliminate the internal stress of wood to the greatest extent and improve its stability.

After the panels are assembled, they should be treated with glue for 24 hours to balance the moisture content of the boards and reduce the impact of water in the glue on the wood.

3. Use the panel adhesive as soon as possible

① Generally, during the rainy season, the temperature is relatively high, and the effective service life of the mixed panel adhesive is not long. Therefore, it must be used as soon as possible.

② Mix the main agent and curing agent strictly in accordance with the ratio, stir thoroughly and evenly, and use them up within the operable time.

③ Pay attention to the environment for mixing the glue to avoid the mixture of wood chips, dust, grease, water, etc. during the mixing process, which may cause contamination of the panel glue.

4. Ensure that the wood is processed and treated thoroughly

The surface of the wood is clean and smooth, and has never been contaminated by grease or dust.

② The bonding surface of the glue should be free from phenomena such as "planing marks, saw marks, and carbonization", and there should be no processing defects such as "biting the head and sweeping the tail".
