In the production of custom furniture, the hot-pressing wood veneer process can endow furniture with natural texture and feel, but wood veneer cracking (during hot-pressing or after painting) often affects quality and efficiency. I. Core Causes of Wood Veneer Cracking

1. Excessively high hot pressing temperature: When the temperature exceeds the suitable range (such as being above 120℃ for a long time), the wood veneer loses water rapidly and the internal stress surges sharply. After exceeding the tolerance limit, it cracks.

2. Excessive hot pressing time: If the conventional wood veneer (which takes 2 minutes) is extended to 5 minutes, it will continuously shrink, damage the fiber structure, lose flexibility and crack.

3. Inaccurate temperature measurement of the press: Temperature display failure (such as showing 80℃ but actually showing 100℃), which leads to staff misjudging parameters and increases the risk of cracking.

4. Wood veneer/glue issues: The wood veneer is thin (weak stress resistance) and has inherent fine cracks. Non-compliant glue (insufficient adhesion) or uneven or insufficient application of glue can both cause cracking.

1. Temperature control: Mainly within the range of 70-95℃ : At this temperature, the wood veneer can fully blend with the glue, reducing shrinkage and cracking. It needs to be fine-tuned according to the type of wood veneer and glue.

2. Time control: 1-3 minutes is the standard value. Use fast-drying glue first to shorten the time. If an extension is required (such as to 5 minutes), the temperature should be simultaneously reduced to around 70℃ to balance the contraction.

3. Regular maintenance of the press: Use a professional thermometer to compare the actual temperature of the steel plate with the displayed value. Calibrate or repair when there is a deviation to avoid misjudgment of parameters.

4. Select high-quality adhesives: Prioritize products with a solid content of ≥40% (high thermal strength and long-lasting adhesion), and recommend environmentally friendly one-component adhesives (no need for complex mixing, uniform and stable application).
