Guide to Preventing Cracking in Hardwood Paneling: Analysis of Difficulties and Scientific Solutions

Teak, teak, ebony and other woods with high oil content and density have become a major problem in the processing of paneling due to their special material properties. If not careful, problems such as delamination and cracking may occur. In fact, as long as the root cause of the difficulty is accurately identified, the scientific process flow is followed, and special adhesives are used, the stability of the splicing can be effectively improved. Among them, choosing the right targeted glue is the core key.

I. Core Difficulties of Oil-hardened Wood Paneling

1. Penetration and moisture regulation are hindered: This type of wood has a dense structure, high hardness, and its hygroscopicity and water loss are far lower than those of ordinary wood. Conventional glue is difficult to penetrate into the interior of wood and cannot form a strong bonding layer. After splicing, it is prone to cracking due to poor adhesion.

2. Grease disrupts bonding effect: The grease inherent in wood forms an "isolation layer" on the surface, which not only reduces the wetting ability of the glue but also weakens the cohesion of the glue film after it forms, resulting in insufficient splicing strength and easy peeling and cracking over long-term use.

Ii. Scientific Technological Process of hardwood Paneling

1. Wood pretreatment: Before splicing, the floating dust and wood chips on the wood surface should be cleaned. For wood with excessive oil secretion, it can be slightly sanded to remove the excess oil on the surface (avoid excessive sanding that may damage the wood structure). Ensure that the wood surface is dry and clean. It is best to "plane and splice on the spot".

2. Gluing operation: Select the special glue suitable for oil-hardened wood and adopt the "double-sided gluing" method to ensure that the glue evenly covers the joint surface. The amount of glue applied should be moderate (avoid too little affecting adhesion and too much causing glue overflow and waste) to ensure that the glue can fully penetrate the surface of the wood.

3. Lamination process: After applying the adhesive, the wood should be spliced in a timely manner. Select the appropriate lamination method based on the characteristics of the adhesive (both cold and hot lamination and high-frequency panel splicing are acceptable). Control the lamination temperature and pressure well to ensure that the wood splicing surfaces are closely adhered, allowing the adhesive to fully penetrate and form a stable adhesive film. The bonding time should follow the instructions of the glue to avoid premature pressure release which may affect the bonding effect.

4. Post-curing: After the lamination is completed, the wood should be naturally cured in a well-ventilated and dry environment, avoiding direct sunlight or high-temperature baking. During the curing period, keep the environmental humidity stable to allow the wood and glue to adapt to the environment simultaneously, reducing cracking caused by rapid water loss or sudden temperature changes.

Iii. Core Adhesive Selection: Fushen GW-1506 Panel Adhesive

In response to the pain points of joining oilhard wood, Fushen GW-1506 panel Adhesive is a specially developed "tailored solution", whose advantages perfectly match the joining requirements of oilhard wood

1. Strong penetration and stable adhesion: It can penetrate the oil layer on the surface of wood, reach deep into the dense interior of the wood structure, has excellent film-forming properties and strong cohesion, firmly locking the wood and preventing delamination and cracking from the root.

2. Excellent performance and wide adaptability: It reaches the D4 waterproof grade, passes the JAS boiling water peeling test in Japan, and can withstand various processing techniques such as cold and hot pressing and high-frequency panel joining, making it suitable for the production processes of all kinds of wood product factories.

3. Environmental protection and safety: Free of formaldehyde and organic volatile substances, it meets the environmental protection requirements of modern processing. It neither pollutes the production environment nor affects the health of users.

As a "Chinese expert in wood veneer adhesives", Fushen has been deeply engaged in the field of woodworking adhesives since 2005. Its GW-1506 paneling adhesive, with its core technology developed specifically, has become a reliable choice for oil-hard wood paneling. By following the scientific process and using this special glue, you can easily solve the problem of cracking in wood panels with high oil content and density, ensuring the durability and quality of wood products.
